The title for my project is “positive”, it communicates that natural light can provide us more besides lighting.
I have experimented with different models and revealed that improving the use of light can make our lives more active.
My process is to build space models with different light effect. I explored the light effect with screen, explored how light enters different spaces and imitated the natural light to obverse the how the light change. The effects for these are really helpful, for example I added some openings at the top of the wall to allow the morning light to pass to remind me to get up.
The application of these experiments has communicated how the light makes me more passionate.

Because the Windows are large, the natural light comes in over a large area. If do not pull the curtain, too strong light can make a person uncomfortable, but pull the curtain all the time can let a person become lazy. To explore the how the natural get into the room before development, first step is to make out the model for my own space which include the paper and card paper model.

After finishing the room models, i found that natural light enters the room through a single channel and is difficult to control, so I plan to focus on changing the way of natural light into the room. There are some folding model that may be helpful to explore different light effect.

After finishing the folding models, I am interesting in creating some gaps for folding model 3. So I cut out some opening along the texture of the folding model 3, then use it as a screen to weaken the light and create some interesting effect.

I found that if i change the roof, that will be a bit hard to control the light. Add patterned or shape-shifting panels to the windows could be considered, it could also weaken the light and allow some interesting effects. Then I try to experiment how the light can get into different space. Because my room has a bathroom in addition to the sleeping place. I have made a model which is composed of three different Spaces, each opening of the space is in a different direction, when the light comes from different angles, it could different space as the change of the angles.

So i found that consider the orientation of the opening can also change the effect of the natural light get into the room. Next step is exploring if i create some openings at the top or the bottom of the wall instead of the a big opening in the middle of the wall.

I really like the effect of this model, the opening at the top allow the light effect change when i imitate the light from sunrise to sunset. It can really helpful to develop my time schedule, like when in the morning time, the light can go through the little opening to remind me wake up.

This render image was inspired by the 3D model i made on week8, i was interesting to experiments some materials have different kind of feeling to create the sense of contrast.

Finally I am going to apply the previously experiments to the room.
I changed the roof to allow light get into the bathroom directly to make it brighter and drier.
Shading plates that can change shape are added to huge window, it allows to change the area of light reaching the room. (interesting lighting effect)
There are some small openings at the top and corners for the exterior wall that allow morning light to enter the room and remind me to get up.(light effect change over the time, remind me to follow the time schedule)

Because there was only two letter for my initial model, so i try to challenge to do one more letter based on this model. i tried to add on more letter "L" in the meddle.
